Blog 4(miscellaneous)

Do I think students will enjoy reading this book fifty years from now? What a hard question. I think that totally depends on how our society changes from now until then. I hope students will enjoy reading this book fifty years from now but I don’t know if that will happen. not only does the way our society changes effect if they will but also the students interest in books and their interest in this type of book. This book seems like it would attract mostly girls so that eliminates half of our population. There are some girls that only like books on magical things or scary things, or even those kids who like reading books that are on witch craft or supernatural crap. You always have to put those kids into consideration also. i hope that students fifty years from now will enjoy this book however i can’t control what kids are interested reading. I know there are those kids who flat out hate reading and that there is no cure for. However, you could find out what kinds of books those kinds of student’s would be interested in reading and maybe you’d be surprised to find out that they might like these kinds of book. This is a good book if you like reality books like this one.

Blog 3(setting)

January 22, 2007

Through out this book, the setting hasn’t really changed. The story takes place for the most part at
Alice’s’ house and at her school. The story never reveals the name of the town or the state that they live in but it seems like a small town. the only thing is is that when ever it seems like they are going to say the name of the town or the state, they don’t, they talk about something totally different. well the story has mentioned one thing about the setting and that was when they were talking about the homecoming dance and one of Alice’s’ friends was talking about her boyfriend coming into town and that he lived in Philadelphia so they must live somewhere near Philadelphia. the setting doesn’t really have an effect on Alice or any of the other characters which is a good thing. i think that if there was a dynamic change in the setting, it wouldn’t be a good idea. Alice goes through a lot in this book and I think that if anything else happened to
Alice and it wasn’t for the better of her life and future, it would be a total disaster. i think the only person that the setting might have had an impact on would have to be
Alice’s father. Although the setting hasn’t really changed, it has a little bit.
Alice has this new boyfriend and her father is kind of scared because of some of the things her brother did when he was her age. But for the most part, the setting hasn’t had a big, major change.
